The term "Lake Erie Islands" usually refers just to the Bass Islands (North, Middle and South) and the smaller islands near them, together sometimes called the Bass Islands Archipelago.

Anton lived on Middle Bass for many years, was the cousin of Andrew Wehrle, Jr. (who built the wine cellars under the Lonz Winery and Wehrle's Pleasure Hall).
